Plateau?? Wrong!
Well, I thought and felt that I was hitting a plateau. I knew that I gained a little in NY, But then I weighed myself and I GAINED three pounds! Grrrrrr. I don't know, it's just getting difficult to lose the older I get. Gotta work Harder!!

Dreaming
Well, not much progress has been made. A lot of dreaming though. Now that it is warming up, and swim suit season is quickly approaching, panic mode is setting in. My boyfriend asked me if he could take me on a cruise for my birthday., and I quickly declined. No way am I ready for a swim suit!!
I am walking a half marathon this Sunday, and I'm hoping to continue to keep up my miles, and incorporate more actual running, instead of walking. I'm still going to yoga, which I love, and I wish I had the time to go Every day..... And I wish my dog was allowed. It is my absolute favorite healthy activity. I'm also of course walking my little fluffy every day. But I seem to be at a plateau. I really need to kick it up a notch.
The half on Sunday will really boost me, hopefully!

NYC
Hello ladies!
I'm not being too bad in NYC. I DID have a slice, but I watched myself the rest of the day. My valentine got me a box of heart shaped York peppermint patties, and I'm eating those very sparingly, lol. I have done a lot of walking, and I went to Bikram yoga while he was at work today, so I'm feeling pretty good still! Yay!
I want to encourage you all to stay positive! Our thoughts become things!

So I went out to Benihana's for my sisters birthday, and I wasn't too bad. I only had one beer, and I had a very tiny piece of cheese cake. I had a Lot of veggies along with the little bowl of fried rice, and a grilled tofu appetizer. It was yummy, and it don't feel too bad about it!
I'm worried about my eating and exercising while I'm in NY for 10 days. It's so freakin cold, I'm not sure that I'll go for a run... Although I want to, and I'll try. I won't have a dog to walk. My boyfriend works one day that I'm there, so I'll go to yoga for sure that day, that's the only thing I can for sure count on.
Then there's the NYC food that I love so much. I usually have a list of places I need to eat. I'm really unsure how this will go with food. I have decided to mostly give up dairy, so will I eat at my 3 fav pizza places while I'm there? I'm not sure. It's so so so yummy, but on the other hand I decided I didn't want to participate and support these dairy farms, and put that crap in my body. It's a real battle. He will be eating this food, so it's just a matter if I can hold back or not. He is very supportive, but he does not want to eat the way I eat for himself.
Anyways, wish me luck. I will likely do what feels best for me at the time.

Hi ladies
I've been very very busy, and I haven't blogged or read blogs this week. I knew this would be the challenge of the challenge..... But I have lost 5 lbs! My goal before I leave for NY on Thursday!!! Since I'm mostly vegan now, it's pretty easy to stay away from the bad foods. Also, I have Been staying focused and going to yoga, walking Rella every day... Even in the rain, haha! She was not liking that, even with an umbrella. However, tonight I'm going to dinner for my sisters birthday. Hopefully I will not have too many drinks.

Today.....
Hi ladies!
Ok so I have some good news and some bad news... Which do you want first? Let's get the bad news out of the way..... I was bad today. I didn't go to yoga, nor did I do any exercise at all. I didn't even count my calories at all. I ate several of these fig cereal bars from Trader Joes. They taste like fig newtons, and I ate one, then another, then another, and so on. I just felt so hungry when I got off work this morning. It was a rough night at work.
So the good news is that I've lost a few pounds already! I've been consistently going to yoga, using my fitness pal, and walking the dog. I need and want to start running again though. As I have said before, I ran the NYC marathon in November, which was my 10th full marathon, and I just haven't run since.
So even though I was bad today, I plan to go to yoga tomorrow, count all my calories and put today behind me.

Hello ladies!
The week is almost over, and I feel really good. I have been logging and tracking my food through my fitness pal, and I have stayed under my calorie goal. I have gone to yoga 4 times. I even did a double one day.! 3 hours of hot yoga was very draining, but it felt so so good! but I have not walked my dog every day. She really really loves to play fetch, and we have been getting caught up,in that, then I don't have time to walk her, but it's something we both need, so I'm going to really try at that more.... It doesn't seem as though I have lost any weight either... But I do feel lighter and look a little thinner. But, at least I'm off to a really good start.!!

Week one: let the challenge begin!!
Well, I'm joining this challenge to hold myself accountable for my food choices and exercise goals (and because momma Cindi asked me to)... And since there is no magic pill, we all know that losing weight is all about diet and exercise.. It seems really simple, yet can be so challenging for most of us. And for me it can be so frustrating, and can put me into an emotional low. So, I'm really looking forward to reading your blogs, getting and giving tips on food, exercise, and keeping motivated. Also, seeing your progress and struggles, and supporting one another through it all.
My goal is to lose 22 lbs. to obtain that goal, my other side goals are to eat healthy, and exercise consistently.
A little about me: I work night shift at a busy downtown hospital, and when I get off work at 6am, I'm usually completely exhausted. I tend to sleep, or lay in bed a lot. It's hard to get up and go exercise. I love to run. I just ran the NYC Marathon in November, but then haven't run much since then. I also love Bikram yoga., and I belong to a studio that offers about 6 classes a day. Yoga is great for my mind, and I love the way that it makes me feel. I am a much better person on yoga, and it is also great for the body as well. I also have a dog, and I walk with her a couple miles, at least 3 times per week. Also, I'm vegetarian.
So, when I heard about this challenge last week, I started going to yoga again, to kinda get going.
My goals this week are to go to yoga 4 times and go for a run. Also to walk Rella every day! I also want to use my fitness pal and stay within my calorie goal for the week.
I'm going to do this!! I leave for NY to go visit my boyfriend on Feb 13th. And I hope to lose 5 pounds by then. Is that do-able? I don't even know. I have never kept track and weighed myself like this before.
I'm also looking for healthy yet easy snack ideas that I can quickly make and bring with me to work. It's the hardest when I'm at work, hungry because I didn't bring any food, and end up going to the vending machine and eating crap!
