Week 1, etc

Hello ladies,

So far I am on track. I have run/walked my dog 3 times this week, and I have gone to the gym and did a Body pump class, which is a full body workout with weights.  You get cardio and strength training with this class.  In addition, I have been eating really well. 

I am concerned about my upcoming vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico next week.  But I have a plan.  At the resort  I am staying at, they offer yoga each morning and a water aerobics class every day.  I plan to do a few of those while I am there, but I hope it will make up for the all you can eat and drink!!  I will try hard to be semi good :)

In addition to my runs with my dog, I need to do some running on my own, because she slows down my normal pace and I am signed up for a 10k on Super Bowl Sunday. 

But I do feel really great so far.

Start

Well it's the beginning of 2011, and I am excited for the new year and new goals.  I am looking forward to this blogging thing and sharing my goals, which makes me accountable for them!  I have really slipped up since my last half marathon in San Francisco at the end of July.  I have not been running or working out much since then.  But before that, I ran consistently since 2006.  I am planning to run the New York City Marathon this year, which is the first weekend in November, so I need to start conditioning and getting in shape and shedding some pounds before I start my training. 

My overall goals:

  • To walk my dog more regularly
  • To lose weight
  • To finish strong in New York
  • To make healthy eating choices

My goals this week:

  • To walk Rella 4 days this week
  • To workout 4 days this week
Well, off to get my week started!!
